Long-distance trails, apart from some of the most famous exceptions (like the Main Sudeten Trail), do not have too many fans. They require the right physical preparation, equipment, planning, and navigation skills.
Trips along these trails typically last for several days at a minimum. Unlike the mentioned Main Sudetes Trail, in the Kaczawskie Mountains and Foothills, you won’t find any mountain shelters, so you should plan your accommodation using the offer of agritourism farms or guesthouses.
Another problem is unfortunately transportation – these trails do not form loops, so you need to somehow get to the starting point and exit from the ending point using public transportation, which can be challenging in the Kaczawskie Mountains…
There are, however, those who are determined to tackle such a long-distance trail no matter what, and they do it successfully! Most likely, the tradition of long-distance hiking is still alive and well.
Our region, in return for all the inconveniences, has a lot to offer – wilderness, tranquility, solitude, and adventure (especially when a less frequented trail accidentally leads us off the beaten path).
