Rock climbing in the Kaczawskie Mountains and Foothills
The Kaczawskie Mountains and Foothills are not the first region that comes to mind for climbing enthusiasts and, in many respects, they fall behind neighbouring regions. It doesn’t mean that there are no places in the Kaczawskie Mountains and Foothills where you can climb and their “exoticism” and low popularity may interest some seekers of new challenges.
The Kaczawskie Mountains is a real geological mosaics. You can find here greenstones, crystalline limestones, granites, shales, sandstones, basalts, rhyolites, and many, many others. Outcrops of many of these rocks are not particularly impressive, and natural rock formations are rare and not as impressive as in the Rudawy Janowickie and Karkonosze Mountains. Many quarries operated here for centuries, creating several interesting rock faces.
