Bee welcome:) My name is Edyta and I am a beekeeper. In my garden, it’s not only the honeybee – Apis mellifera – that plays a crucial role, but all pollinators, to whom we owe 1/3 of our food.
From May to October, I tend to bee families, both those in beehives and those in observation hives, where everyone can safely experience being in a hive, interacting with up to 200,000. bees.
For the remaining six months, I move my Beekeeping Experience Garden to the Sudetic Geoscience Centre.
Beekeeping workshops
I organize and lead beekeeping workshops where participants can not only learn about the importance of bees in nature but also feel like a part of their family.
At the workshops in the exhibition hive, everyone, in a safe manner wearing a complete beekeeping suit, can observe the hard work that these diligent insects perform every second. Workshop participants also benefit from bee therapy in specially prepared observation hives, where, together with the bees in double-meshed hives that are safe for humans, they can enjoy bacteria-free fresh air.
In the family honey house, everyone can operate the honey extractor and understand what uncapping is, see a beekeeping fork, or witness the use of a smoker that’s over 100 years old:)
