Szybowcowa Mountain – glider site over Jeżów Sudecki is another place where you can go for beautiful views of the Karkonosze Mountains, but also a place where decades ago the world’s second gliding training center and glider factory were established, operating until the 1960s. It is still used by enthusiasts of hang gliding and paragliding.
You can reach the top by car or on foot and remember that the poet Edward Stachura wrote here the script for “Siekierezada” and verses of the poem “Urodziny” (Birthday – translation from Polish):
Today is my birthday
Which I celebrate without family
Far away, high up, among the stray ones
