Spend one day in the Land of Extinct Volcanoes Geopark and see the Siedmicki Gorge!
- The gorge is a very charming and picturesque place, it lies in the Chełmy Landscape Park. Here, you’ll come across numerous greenschist rocks, traces of the former volcanism and traces of a small medieval castle, called Zbójecki Zamek, oakwoods, alder forests or maple-linden forest, and with a little luck – spotted salamander. Your hike will be accompanied by the brook Młynówka flowinf next to the path.
- There are over 250 species of plants, including 19 protected species, growing in the reserve. No wonder that in 2001 the nature reserve Siedmicki Gorge with an area of 68 ha was established here.
- you can find a parking spot by the turn to the village of Nowa Wieś Wielka, after Siedmica
- after a 25-minute-long hike along the path from the car park, you’ll reach a resting place. There are sheds and information boards. By turning right – you’ll walk into the Siedmicki Gorge.
- There is another option, definitely longer, leading along the path „Leśna przygoda”, and then the walking path „Turystyczna”. Everything is well-marked. As a result, you’ll see the Myślibórz Gorge, the village of Jakuszowa, and finally you’ll reach the Siedmicki Gorge. The whole route is approximately 14 kilometers, and you’ll need almost 5 hours for this walk.
- 80% of the route is in the shade, there’s a chance, you won’t meet anyone! After the trip we recommend a tasty meal at the Gulusiowa Restaurant
- remember to wear long trousers and closed shoes, sometimes you may need to cross the brook or a fallen tree
Enjoy discovering the Land of Extinct Volcanoes Geopark!
