The educational trail begins and ends in the town of Dobków at the Earth Science Center Sudetic Educational Center in the Geopark of the Land of Extinct Volcanoes The entire trail forms a loop measuring approximately 7.7 kilometers and includes 9 educational points. The newly established path follows existing hiking trails (marked in green and black). At each point on the trail, a QR code plaque will be placed, directing hikers to a website where a description of the site along with drawings, photographs, and diagrams will be provided. Additionally, an electronic map with the marked route and the successive points will be developed, with a simplified geological map of the area as the base There is also a promotional video in the making for the new geological trail.
The trail encompasses educational points describing almost 540 million years of Earth’s history! During the hike, you will travel back hundreds of millions of years – starting from the oldest rocks formed over 500 million years ago to the youngest geological formations in Dobków area from just a few tens of thousands of years ago.
