Zawodna (in some sources there is a name Zawada) is a hill with the height of 445 m a.s.l. in the central part of the Kaczawskie Foothills, near the village of Gozdno. It is built from Permian volcanic rocks – rhyolites. In their weathered deposits on the slopes of Zawodna and in the slopes of neighboring valleys, agates can be found.<\/p>\n
The peakwas devoid of tourist attractions until recently, but the situation changed with the construction in 2018 of the wooden observation tower with the height of 20 m, with the viewing platform at the height of 16 m. The tower offers a panoramic view of the Kaczawskie Foothills and the Kaczawskie Mountains all around. Well-visible are the hills associated with Cenozoic basaltic volcanism: Wilko\u0142ak<\/a>, Grodziec<\/a>, Ostrzyca<\/a>, Muchowskie Hills<\/a>, and Czartowska Rock<\/a>; the large basalt quarry “Krzeni\u00f3w” is also prominently visible, its activity nearly depleting the \u0141ysanka hill. To the south, you can see the Kaczawskie Mountains range with Okole<\/a>, Po\u0142om<\/a>, and the D\u0142u\u017cek<\/a> – Marciniec ridge to the east of Wojciesz\u00f3w.<\/p>\n With good visibility, the panorama also includes the Karkonosze Mountains with \u015anie\u017cka, the Wa\u0142brzych Mountains, and the Sowie Mountains. You can reach the summit of Zawodna via paths branching off from the Trail of Extinct Volcanoes that leads from Kondrat\u00f3w to Wielis\u0142awka<\/a>. There are also single-track cycling routes<\/a> on the slopes of the hill and in the surrounding area. At the edge of Gozdno, at the foot of the hill, there stands a partially reconstructed monument commemorating the villagers who died during World War I.<\/p>\n The route from the car park:<\/p>\n
