The Lysa Gora Mountain and the Widok Pass
The Lysa Gora Mountain and the Widok Pass are among the most beautiful hills in the Kaczawskie Mountains. The slopes of Lysa Gora offer the southern view on the Jelenia Gora Basin, the Rudawy Janowickie Mountains and the Karkonosze Mountains, and the northern view on the Kaczawskie Mountains and the volcanoes of the Kaczawskie Foothills. No wonder that a well-known traveller, naturalist, the explorer of North America and the honour member of Polish Sciences' Association, Alexander von Humbolt listed these views among the most beautiful in the world. Now there are three ski runs on the slope of the mountain, each one thousand meters long. There is also Winter Sports' Micro-station Lysa Gora – Dziwiszow, an ideal place for skiing beginners and AESCULAP, one of the best ski schools in Poland. Snowmaking allows to keep the runs in use even during a low-snowing season. Since the runs are lit, the skiers eagerly come to do so called „night skiing”. In the summer, Lysa Gora is overtaken by the devotees of push scooter downhill. MTB competitions are also organized on the existing cycle routes around the Lysa Gora Mountain; the best known are „Lysogorki” competitions.
