The „Wilcza Gora” Reserve was created to protect the original system of basalt columns which resembles rose petals. Those rocky formations of an outstanding beauty got uncovered by a quarry set in the pipe of a volcano which trembled the neighborhood mere seventy million years ago. This sloppy hill (367) is valuable for not only its geological but also florist elements (thermophiles). There is a legend about great treasures hidden somewhere there by a robber named Black Christoph. Today we can still see three beautiful sandstone caves near the trail marked with green colour (the Skalny Wodospad Cave, the Wilcza Jama Cave, the Niedzwiedzia Jama Cave). The above mentioned walking trail runs from Zlotoryja through Jerzmanice and from Wilkow.
