The Szybowcowa Mountain called Szybowisko near Jezow Sudecki is another place worth seeing because of the beautiful view on the Karkonosze Mountains, but it is above all the place known as the centre of gliding training (started several years ago, it was second such centre in the world) and the factory of gliders which worked there until the 1960s. Also today, this spot is frequently visited by the devotees of hang gliding and paragliding. We can drive by car on the top of the mountain, sit in a bar and think of the poet Edward Stachura who was writing there the screenplay to the film „Siekierazada” (based on his novel of the same title) and the poem „Birthday”: „This is my birthday and this date / without my kins I celebrate / so far, so high and in the wilderness / in a small room in a tower over a hangar for gliders...”
