Swiny castle

The castle in Swiny, in the neighbourhood of the castle in Bolkow, three kilometers to the north-east from it was connected with the Swinkas family. Although it is located on a sloppy hill like Bolkow castle, its plan is different. Square three-store tower was built of stone; there survived, in a relatively good condition, the elements of ceilings, Gothic windows, moulding, stone block portals and sgraffito ornamentations on the outside walls. It was the place where Jakob Boehme was writing in 1624 his treaty entitled „177 Theosophic Questions, with Answers to Thirteen of Them”.
